How to link remote Oracle database in linux?

Panorama, guys!
Sorry for writing in English because of this kind of OS!!
         
I am a newbie about Oracle.Now I am trying to configure this database.

No matter how hard I tried. It is useless to connect remote Oracle database through "sqlplus." My command of "sqlplus" is about connection --> .

I am sure the sid can connect remote database. but I am not sure I have the sid in my machine which is redhat Linux9.0.[b]How to configure sid in my local machine so that my client can connect remote computer which installed Oracle database server![/b]

Also, I have a lot of problems about configuration of Oracle in materials.Thanks linux9.0.Who can provide me some useful suggestions.
